Memories are leaking between repositories

Describe the bug

Today I have had a strange situation. I created a new git repository, checked it out and then asked copilot to add some basic instructions and project setup.

Out of the nowhere, it mumbled about some "facts stored in the memory" (of course there are none because the repo is fresh!) that seem to be part of a different (similar named) repository...

I then asked copilot about where this comes from and got something like

Done. The memory is deprioritised and won't influence future sessions for this project.

Note: if you want to fully remove it, you can do so at GitHub Settings → Copilot → Memory — I can't delete it directly.

The README and AGENTS.md already reflect this correctly —  Ready for the next step whenever you are.

Of course I can't delete it because there are nothing stored for this repository! It even seems to be created during a session on another computer (it contained a local folder path).
