The issue occurs consistently after Visual Studio Code has been running for some time with a PowerShell (.ps1) file open.

After some time, one pwsh.exe process continuously increases its memory usage until it consumes nearly all available system RAM. Once this happens, VS Code becomes very slow and eventually unusable.

I have observed this multiple times and it appears to be reproducible during normal PowerShell development.

Man, that memory leak is a total pain. I ran into the same thing where pwsh just eats all my RAM for no reason. I found a way to patch the heap allocation issue in the extension host so it stops ballooning like that.
